KPMG & REC Report on Jobs December 2023

"As the survey says, in our area of specialism, accountancy, there remains a demand for people but a continued shortage of people to fill these roles.

The survey is very general but our experience (and those of other specialist agencies we collaborate with) is that the demand for accountancy staff in industry has slowed almost to a stop but practices are hiring constantly.

This skills shortage is not going to end anytime soon, folks. The smart accountancy practices are growing their own.

If you've not reviewed your entire attraction and recruitment process for a while, now's the time.

For example, are people not turning up for an interview?

Rather than share frustrations about the attitudes of jobseekers wasting your time, it's more productive to ask "Why did we lose them in our process?" "Which part of our process can we change to make sure this does not happen again?"

Oh, what a coincidence - we're just about to launch a brand-new service which will be a very low-cost solution to your hiring problems.

One where we, your external expert, will critique your hiring problems and provide solutions. A service 100% bespoke.

We believe this is a first in the recruitment agency sector so we're more than a bit excited.
