Saving Time & Peace of Mind

Helping a Business to Save Time & Offer Peace of Mind

Situation

This global construction company, with 88 UK Offices and 22,000 employees were about to commence the centralisation of their HR function whilst opening a Shared Service Centre based on the Bedfordshire/Northants border.

Challenge

The organisation needed to find large numbers of skilled HR professionals for a rapidly growing new HR department. The roles were very defined and specific rather than HR generalist roles including positions for Recruiters, Rewards & Benefits Administrators, HR Data Analysts, Payroll Administrators and HR Advisors. Because of their size, structure and culture they are unique locally so finding people with the specific skill sets required within reasonable timescales was a challenge so great that their own dedicated recruitment team identified they couldn’t do it alone.

Methodology

To reduce the risk of hiring the wrong people when such a big task was in hand and with constant change during the growth of the business it was essential to get to know the recruitment team well. We needed to establish how they like to work with agencies and build relationships with line managers to understand what each one deemed most important in terms of essential and non-essential skills sets and cultural fits.

We have an unceasing recruitment campaign for this business, highlighting the benefits of working for their organisation, attracting and vetting candidates constantly to fulfil their never ending demand and managing the process tightly to avoid losing good candidates in a climate where we are experiencing increased skills shortages.

Result

We continue to supply staff to the HR Shared Service Centre and have done since its launch. This includes the supply of professional Recruiters to aid its internal recruitment campaign along with HR Advisors to support internal staff with challenges and HR queries before they become critical as well as temporary and contract staff to assist with the completion of work during busy periods including the processing of HR data, like holiday requests and sickness record keeping.

Conclusion

Clarity has played a critical part in the setting up of the Shared Service Team which now has over 100 staff. Clarity has supplied numerous temporary staff that have been offered permanent placements having proved themselves to be invaluable and many permanent and contract staff supplied by us remain part of their current team. We have proven ourselves to be relied upon time and time again, with relationships to director level in this blue chip company. We also remain on their Preferred Supplier List, which is reviewed annually, due to our excellent results.
