Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Job Ref: 4992
Wednesday 22nd April 2026
£55,000 - £65,000 per Annum
You've built a career in an accountancy practice, exam-qualified, and are looking to make a career move.
With strengths in VAT, accounts preparation, personal tax, and corporation tax, you enjoy supporting junior staff, whether that be training, mentoring or supervising.
And you're looking for a new opportunity which offers career progression, job stability and an interesting and varied workload.
How about joining this high-performing, growing team with an 80/20 split between accounts and audit?
Supporting an experienced leadership team in a business which is growing throughout the UK, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of clients consisting of sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, using your technical expertise and strong relationship skills.
Day to day, you'll focus on preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns, supporting senior colleagues with tax planning and advisory work, handling complex VAT queries, and advising clients on compliance and regulatory changes.
Your previous supervisory experience will be put to good use, overseeing work, providing constructive feedback and ongoing training and support. You'll also conduct regular staff reviews and be an approachable point of contact and mentor.
Supporting the wider team, you'll help manage workflows and share best practices.
Here, you'll work for a firm with the infrastructure you'd expect from a larger business, including specialists to help with complex or unusual queries your clients might have. Yet the everyday environment will make you feel like you're part of a smaller, friendly group of people.
The offices are modern, easily accessible from the A1, and parking is on-site.
The business is growing, so there are genuine career opportunities if you want them.
You'll be working from 8.30 am to 5.15 pm with a one-hour lunch break, and eligible for 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays. After three months of service, you'll qualify for the Childcare Voucher Scheme, death in service (2x salary), private healthcare, study support, a contributory company pension scheme (4% match), an Employee Assistance programme, a reward programme and commission on referrals.
