KPMG & REC Report on Jobs October 2024

The headline figures evidence:

  • Permanent staff appointments declining further
  • Permanent pay growth continuing to fall
  • Candidate availability continuing to climb

Despite the talk of growth, there is evidence of stagnation (there was no growth in June and July, and we can expect the same for August, September and October). Businesses are, therefore, holding off making any big decisions until after the budget.

Whatever the budget announcements are, businesses will feel able to track a clear path and make big decisions.

In the meantime, we're counting down to 30th October and trying to ignore the intense speculation.

Recruitment challenges are not easing, with those of you still hiring finding the process very frustrating. Want a chat?
