Sharing The Love
I am back in the office this morning, rather tired after attending the Chartered Institute of Credit Management awards dinner last night as a guest of our friends at Sony DADC. Their UK credit team achieved CICMQ status in October and they were shortlisted for two awards.
Being in my mid 40's with a job I deem reasonably stressful, weekday evenings are often spent unwinding with the latest box set (currently Fortitude). But I gave the Little Black Dress an airing and got myself down to London for fun on a 'school night'.
On arrival at the venue, the very first people I encountered were two old friends and former colleagues, one of whom was also nominated for an award, and later reunited with a friendly former client I haven't seen for a decade. I hadn't realised the world of credit management was quite so small.
I can honestly say it was a genuine pleasure to spend an evening in a room jam-packed with wonderful hard working people letting their hair down and taking immense pride in their work achievements, something I now realise we just don't do enough of.
Thank you Sony DADC for choosing to share your evening with me.
