Letchworth, Hertfordshire
Job Ref: 4963
Thursday 24th April 2025
£26,000 FTE per Annum
You're working in finance and enjoy the social aspect of working in the office every day, but on a part-time basis.
20 hours a week would suit you nicely, from 9:30 am to 1.30 pm Monday to Friday.
You're an upbeat and lively person, and perhaps you're looking to return to the office after a break or have been working from home, which doesn't suit you.
Maybe you're not ready to retire yet and want to work locally, make new work friends and still have time in your week for other interests or caring responsibilities. Someone with your experience will be appreciated.
You'd like a varied job, within a friendly and supportive team who enjoy a chat throughout the day whilst still delivering high-quality, high-volume work, and collectively take an interest in ensuring you're settling in and training you up.
Day to day, you can expect to spend mornings doing high volumes of cash posting.
The remainder of your time, you'll handle credit control queries from across the business units, monitor the department email inbox, process invoices, open new customer accounts and perform some reconciliations. Some of this will be part of your everyday routine, sometimes it's simply to provide support to a colleague.
Your boss has your back, is a friendly, empathetic and good-humoured person who wants you to succeed.
This is a very secure and profitable business which is run as much for its staff as its customers, rewarding people very well. You can expect to be part of a generous profit share scheme, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (saving 5 days for Christmas close), and a statutory pension scheme, which, if you contribute towards, you also get death in service 5 x salary.
It's 100% office-based, with free parking next to the building and great public transport links.
The team enjoy the odd social, including a lunch off-site at the end of the quarter, where company results are shared.
The structure of the finance team is quite flat, so there are limited opportunities to progress upwards. Therefore, this position wouldn't suit someone ambitious or studying. You'll not have room to grow fast enough, and we're being transparent about that to save wasting your time.
The salary of £26,000 is the full-time equivalent and will be adjusted to reflect your part-time hours. Since the company operates at 37.5 hours per week and you will be working 20, this equates to approximately £13.30 per hour.
Apply now to avoid disappointment - every applicant will receive a response.
