Accounts Semi-Senior

Industry Sector: Accounts

Royston, Hertfordshire

Job Ref: 4960

Thursday 24th April 2025

£27,000 - £30,000 per Annum

You're a part-qualified accountant, still some way off from qualifying at Level 7, and working in an accountancy practice.

But unhappy in your current work situation.

Maybe it's the lack of support for your studies. Or inflexibility in your working week.

Perhaps it's become clear that once you've qualified, there's nowhere to go within the firm because it's too small or the owner withholds interesting work.

You're confident in accounts production for a whole range of different clients and are capable of helping your less experienced colleagues. But, looking out for yourself, you want to be doing that where you can be offered a clear career path and support as you learn and grow.

The vacancy you're reading about is within a firm which is stable and well-established. The team, friendly and supportive. The job is varied and interesting.

Working on a varied portfolio of clients, you'll prepare year-ends, handle bookkeeping queries, look at client internal controls and processes and tax computations.

The job is full-time (36.25 hours per week) and core working hours are 10 am to 4 pm Monday to Thursday inclusive, and 10 am to 3 pm on Friday.

How your hours are made up around those core hours can be discussed. However, during your three-month probationary period, you'll be working on-site from 9 am to 5 pm.

You'll have the benefit of working for a well-established, highly reputable professional services business. One that supports, trains, develops and promotes from within (but still needs to employ people from outside the firm from time to time).

Once established, you can work from home up to two days per week and flex your hours.

Your holiday entitlement will be 23 days + bank holidays (FTE) and they provide income protection cover.

A lunchtime break is 45 minutes long, and you'll be on the doorstep of cafes and shops to enjoy if you wish.

If you have the necessary experience and this sounds interesting, click apply to be considered, confident that your application will receive a response.

Suitable applicants will receive an email from a team member to book a telephone call to discuss with you. You'll be offered that person's diary to book a slot which works at a day and time to suit you.

If you decide to proceed further, we'll agree to send your CV to the hiring manager for consideration. You'll be kept informed about the next steps and supported through the process.

Apply today to move forward.
