Moving jobs right now might feel like a real leap of faith. But it needn’t be.

Having worked as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager within an SME environment, you’ll want to move to a well-established business that’s had record-breaking months in 2020 and a very, very bright future.

One where they want you to be part of future success, taking on the day to day whilst challenging current practices and helping to drive the business forward.

Where you'll be tasked with bringing the outsourced accounts in-house whilst managing a small and very busy transactional team and improving processes and procedures.

See yourself as a Finance Director in the future? No problem. It’s all part of the plan.

Day to day you can expect to be using your strong Sage 50 skills, producing a robust set of monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis, cost and inventory accounting, budgeting and forecasting. As well as statutory returns, payroll, and year ends.

You’ll be looking at ways for the department to work smarter, organising the team and helping the directors to drive the business with improved margins, process efficiencies and proactively looking at ways to be the most effective, including greater automation.

The business you’ll be part of turns over £5m with plans to get to £12m by 2023. They supply and install essential consumer products to building projects, retail showrooms and consumers, in multiple ways, for multiple manufacturers, distributors and retailers both high street and on-line. And as such are ‘key workers’, working through lockdowns.

With a strong management team and a clear strategy in place, it’s no wonder they are experiencing record-breaking revenue.

You’ll be working within a small, safe office environment with staff on a rota between working from home and the office to ensure COVID safety. The culture of the business is friendly and relaxed but professional and driven. They encourage, support and train their employees and are rightly proud of this fact since it helps them to attract and retain great people.

Hours can be flexible to some degree but expect 8 am to 4.30 pm (37.5 hours per week). Annual leave of 22 days plus 8 bank holidays as well as a competitive salary, dependent upon experience, private healthcare after 12 months and access to the company pension scheme. As mentioned, this is a wonderful, challenging post with the ability to become Finance Director as the business grows.

Applicants with a recognised accountancy qualification are preferred but technical capability, experience, commercial outlook and attitude are huge considerations.

So, apply now to avoid missing out.
