A leading UK supplier of foods to the major UK supermarkets, food service and manufacturing industries has asked Clarity to assist them in their search for a Technical Manager - Food Technology.
The position is responsible to the Technical Director to ensure that the documented quality system is maintained and that the requirements of the customers are met in terms of product safety, legality and quality.
• To ensure that all products imported are safe, legal and meet the quality criteria of the agreed contracts.
• To ensure that the documented quality system is maintained in full.
• To liaise fully with suppliers and customers on all product and factory related issues.
• To maintain the Sedex database.
• To ensure that customer and Environmental Health complaints are handled in accordance with the documented procedure.
• To liaise with the company's Laboratory personnel to promote a smooth and efficient operation.
• To carry out factory audits in accordance with the documented procedure and accompany customers on factory audits/visits as necessary.
• To control and action non-conforming product.
• To keep up to date on all UK, EC and Codex Alimentarius food laws and regulations.
• To aid the preparation of customer product and packaging specifications.
• To ensure all New Products are developed in line with the Customer Brief and Retailer Codes of Practice.
There will be an element of overseas travel which is fully expensed by the company.
Qualifications/Experience:
• Degree or equivalent in a food related discipline.
• Relevant experience gained in a food-manufacturing environment.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
